Cure Writers Block with Eight Suggested Cures and Deterents!

Cure writers block with eight "cures" I have compiled and listed below. All are proven methods and will keep you on track with all of your writing! Personally, the last one is the very best and will definitely keep you on your game!

Cure #1: Get Plenty Of Rest
Most of us are on the move for 18 to 20 hours a day, from working on a job to working on your book, to working with your family. It's non-stop from the time you wake up in the morning until your head hits the pillow at night.

All Stop! You're just asking for a writer's block disaster. No matter what you think you are used to, your body needs plenty of recharge time so it can work 110 percent tomorrow.

Cure writers block by getting at least 6 hours of sleep a night, every night. I know this may sound like a lot for your (I know it is too much for me), but you will work more efficiently if you allow plenty of time for your body to recharge. Manage your time so you can schedule in your much needed rest.

Cure #2: Lower Your Stress

Everyone who's everyone has stress in their lives. Stress comes in many shapes and forms: Your kids, your husband, your wife, your car, you job, people driving all around you...and the list goes on. You may think you have a good handle on your stress, but you really don't. No one does! Otherwise we'd be perfect!

Stress works silently and stealthily into your body, grinding away at your mind and body with its razor sharp teeth. Once it takes hold, it's hard to shake. There's a whole site dedicated to the subject that I highly recommend to help you lower your stress. Lowering your stress levels will definitely benefit to cure writers block.

Cure #3: Eat right and Exercise

Your body is an amazing machine and runs just like any other machine out there. As with any machine, it needs fuel and needs to be run often to make sure it stays in working order.

If the machine runs out of fuel, it will cease to work. If the machine isn't run in a long time, it won't run correctly.

Same goes with your body. Fuel your body with a proper diet and exercise at least three times a week to keep up your strength. This will deter and cure writers block by keeping you healthy and alert.

Cure #4: Read every day

You should read for at least 30 minutes a day to keep your mind happy. The more you read, the more you will learn, the happier your mind will be. This will keep you from getting bored by doing the same things over and over again. I have some recommended reading to help you find some great self-help materials to keep you actively reading and cure writers block. Also, don't forget to read from a good fiction novel every now and then so you can improve your fiction vocabulary.

Cure #5: Write every day

Make it a habit to write every day. I'm not saying write a new story every night. I'm telling you to write something every day.

Write a journal entry about your day's events. Write a note to your husband or wife. Write a chapter in your book. Write a letter to the President. Write something! By making writing a habit, you will be less likely to stop, thus never getting writers block.

Cure #6: Reassure yourself

A lot of people lose their writing urge because they just don't think what they are doing is worth their effort. Let me tell you, it is worth every second of it!

You should be reciting your goals, dreams, and success statements every day if you ever want your dreams to come true. Along with your morning and evening routine of autosuggestion, recite the following statement:

"I am a great writer. I am writing the next best seller. I will publish all my writing. I will succeed at writing."

This is called autosuggestion, a form of hypnosis that imbeds your goals, dreams, and a lot of other things into your subconscious brain. It is done by repetition and keeps you on the right track.

Cure #7: Use Creative Writing Prompts to Get Back on Track

If you do experience an episode of writers block during the process of writing a book, cure writer's block with a system to foster new writing ideas for your works in progress.

Cure #8: Focus on Your Objectives

Everything is about your focus! Without focus in life, you will miss you target that your aiming for! If you focus, all of your energy is directed toward your objectives and keeps you on track more than if you haphazardly bounce from thing to thing! Finding ways to keep you focus will be an excellent way to cure writers block.

I hope my eight cures will help you get your writing back on the right track. If not, I highly recommend The Writer's Mind CD to permanently rid you of writer's block once and for all!
