Motivation - Restarting Your Dream Factory! February 2006 Newsletter!
Welcome to Motivation - Restarting Your Dream Factory!the third Write and Publish Fiction Newsletter. Last month's newsletter response what awesome. I had a 98.6% open rate for the broadcast. Great job!
Welcome new subscribers! January was a busy month for me and I've barely had any time to keep up with the site because of my job in the Navy. We still had over twenty new signups, so things are growing quite nicely! For those of you who don't know how this works, each month I will base the newsletter theme on a new topic concerning writing and publishing fiction. This theme will include a top story, an associated article, questions and answers asked by our visitors, resources associated with the theme, book of the month, and recommended company that provides services for the selected theme. If you have any topics you would like to see in future newsletters or if you have an article related to writing or publishing fiction, email them to me and I will incorporate them into the site and newsletter.
Again, thank you for subscribing.

Motivation: Restarting Your Dream Factory!
by Jason W. Moser February 2006Motivation is the key to getting things done! Whether you are a writer, business entrepreneur, or any other self-motivation driven occupation, if you don't focus in on your passion in life, your driving force, you will wonder haplessly through life with no meaning or purpose other than simply living. So, how do you motivate yourself to stay on course and keep the words flowing per se? Tap into your Dream Factory and figure out what your motivation hot buttons are. First, let's explore your Dream Factory. Many years ago, back when you were playing Cops and Robbers, Cowboys and Indians, or playing with your Barbie Dolls, you had the unique ability to foster dreams out of thin air. Your dreams were limitless, reaching to all ends of the universe and beyond. You knew exactly what you wanted in life and you weren't going to settle for anything less. Then life happened! Your dreams narrowed and your primary focus in life changed from one thing to the next, just so you could continue living in this hectic and ever changing world. When you grow up, it seems as though your Dream Factory shuts down, or at least slows way down, and all motivation is lost. Let's analyze this for a moment. What are some of the reasons you have stopped dreaming and possibly lost your motivation? Is it the fact that things don't always go as planned and there always seems to be something new in the way of your dreams? Or, is it something that drastically changes the course of your life such as marriage, children, or a sudden change of occupations? Life changes so quickly sometimes that it's hard to keep up with it. Moreover, when we are subject to these changes, our goals and dreams tend to take a back burner to life. Our Dream Factory in fact shuts down and we begin living what is known as “the Rut!” A rut is a routine that happens day in and day out, from the time you wake up in the morning until you fall asleep at night; nothing changes with each passing day and life becomes senseless and boring or with no motivation. Trying to get out of the rut is a huge hurdle in itself, something that takes a lot of self-discipline and motivation. If you live every day of your life the same as the last, you won't accomplish anything new and exciting. Your life needs a direction; you need something to strive for; you need a dream to pursue, something that you are totally passionate about. Everyone has a different motivation or dreams of how they want their lives to turn out. To find your passion in life, you first need to analyze your life. Think back to when you were a kid, reach into that Dream Factory, and pull out some ideas. Do not limit yourself when it comes to dreaming. You must dream as big as your imagination will take you. Do you want to be a published author? Do you want to be a pilot? Do you want to discover a cure for cancer? Do you want to build the first self-propelled automobile? Now, let's take your passion for a moment. If your passion is to write that successful novel you've always dreamed about, then you are going to have to make a few changes in your life to get it done. Those changes may be subtle or drastic depending on your situation, but if that dream in life is idle, you really do have to change your goals in life to make it a reality. Passion is what makes motivation take hold. There are many ways to set goals, but goals are useless if you lack motivation and fail to strive to accomplish them. Goals should be written in clear and concise words, should be given a date of planned accomplishment, and should be attainable. In other words, don't set your goals so high that you will never reach them. Plan out to publish your first book one goal at a time. Plan out to get your college degree one goal at a time. It may take three or four solid goals to reach your ultimate goal, but it should be easily reached if you simply follow your dreams and go for it. There are so many ways to get your Dream Factory restarted.
