Sell a Book With Several Promotional Ideas Geared Toward Marketing Your Fiction!

You must sell a book to make money from your fiction! Sorry to break it to you, but this is the only way you will ever make money from writing! Unfortunately, not all writers are business minded and not all writers know how to sell their books. How about you? Do you know how to sell your fiction?

Selling your fiction has got to be one of the most challenging aspects of fiction book writing and publishing. You are comfortable with writing, can manage through the process of publishing, but when it comes to sales and marketing, we as writers just weren't wired up that way. That's why so many people fail to make money after they have published their fiction work! They just don't know how to sell!

My goal is to help you understand the business side of your writing and how you can generate a manageable income from your writing that can free you from all other income sources (a job) in order to free up your time for more writing!

The first key to sell a book is exposure. No one is going to carry out the responsibility of marketing your book except you, not even your publisher! A publisher may go as far as placing your book title, description, and ISBN in online bookstores, book directories, and some major book outlets, but remember, they aren't in the book selling business, they are in the publishing business.

A publisher may go as far as adveriting your book until they make their money back (if they gave you an advance), but from that point, you are definitely on your own. And of course, if you self-publish a book, you must take charge of your own book sales right away.

Most publishers, especially the big named ones, are all about making money. If your book will sell itself and they like it, they will trust that you are motivated enough to pursue the marketing side and sell a book to your target audience with avengence. These are the publishers that will provide you with an advance to help fund that initial marketing effort you must pursue. So you must be ready to take your writing to the next level, a serious level that will make or break you as a writer.

In order to sell a book, you need to promote it yourself, plane and simple. You do have to consider all forms of advertising, on and off line, otherwise you will seriously limit yourself and the sale of your book. Most of all, you must consider your writing as a business, otherwise the money you do make from your book sales won't help you make more money through what is known as leverage in the business world.

You have several options to sell a book for maximum revenue from your book sales. Don't limit yourself by settling for just one option or two options. You should be in the mindset to sell as many books as possible using as many methods as possible, but concentrating most of your time and efforts on four or five media sources at any one time!
